I am proud to call Solihull in the West Midlands, UK, my hometown. From my early days, gymnastics, trampolining, and swimming became my playground, passions that have stood the test of time. Numbers, mathematics, and science also captured my heart early on, fuelling a lasting curiosity.
Beyond the world of sports, my youth was woven with diverse interests, including an active involvement in youth politics. I served as the Chair of Castle Bromwich Youth Parish Council, held a position in the Solihull Youth Council, and proudly represented Solihull for two consecutive years as a Member of Youth Parliament (MYP). This journey led me to a pivotal role as the West Midlands' Debate Lead for the Annual House of Commons Debate, an experience that saw me leading a televised debate in the House of Commons on BBC Parliament. Subsequently, I was elected to the Youth Select Committee, where I assumed the role of chair, focusing on matters related to education. Our committee inquiries were broadcast live, and our collective efforts culminated in a report presented to the Government. As a result, I was called upon as an expert witness to advocate for the introduction of compulsory Sex and Relationship Education (SRE) across the UK.
My academic pursuits took me to the University of Birmingham, where I studied Mathematics and Philosophy. Even during university life, my passion for trampolining persisted, and I ventured into the world of competitive debating. I was fortunate enough to be granted the opportunity to judge at the European Debating Championships and compete at the World Debating Championships.
Eager to expand my knowledge further, I pursued a part-time Master's degree at the University of York, studying Innovation, Management, and Leadership, writing my Thesis centring around the ingrained patriarchy within Business Strategy Education.
Navigating predominantly male-dominated environments, I've frequently found myself as the sole woman on leadership teams. This experience has significantly influenced my current focus on supporting young individuals and women as they enter the workplace, guiding them through the nuances of these professional landscapes.
My goal is to extend a helping hand to others, sharing insights from my journey and fostering a deeper understanding of the intricacies within the workplace.
I initially ventured into the field of teaching, but unforeseen circumstances prompted a swift pivot into diverse industries. My path led me to Amazon, an exceptional workplace that provided invaluable learning experiences, connections with remarkable individuals, and the chance to contribute in an extraordinary environment.
Over time, I've navigated through various roles, including supply-chain consultancy, a sports-tech company, and now work within the tech-sphere.
Beyond the corporate landscape, I find fulfilment in coaching gymnastics at Birmingham Gymnastics Academy, offering business-related advice when needed. I also indulge in craft projects, a way to make the most of any additional free time I come across.
Driven, Quirky, Intelligent, Caring, Focused, Resilient.
